Stazol is an anabolic steroid used in the treatment of hereditary angioedema, a rare genetic condition characterized by recurrent episodes of severe swelling. The most common areas affected are the limbs, face, and intestinal tract, as well as the airway. Minor trauma or stress can trigger an attack, although swelling often occurs without a clear trigger.

Stanol is a synthetic steroid similar to testosterone. It works by blocking the release of a substance called bradykinin, which promotes inflammation and causes blood vessels to break and leak. This damages blood vessels and leads to swelling (edema). By blocking bradykinin action, Stazol helps to treat angioedema and reduce swelling.
